  This class is for a beginner level glassblower.  It is a hands-on experience that takes you through the entire glass working process.  We introduce you to the tools, fundamental principles and practices of glassworking before guiding you in the creation of your very own beautifully blown and shaped glass items.  Projects include paperweights, flowers and vases.

  This class is for students who have either taken Glassblowing I or have previous glassblowing experience.  Instructor approval is needed.  We will expand upon your skills learned in Glassblowing I.  Students will learn decorative techniques such as lip wraps, bit work, and cookie feet.

Private Lessons – $120Private lessons are scheduled in 2-hour time blocks and must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.  You will receive one-on-one instruction from our resident artists!  Private lessons are given continually throughout the season and will resume September 22nd.
Membership in TGS is required for private lessons.

Course Length: 2 Consecutive Saturdays

Beginning Workshop: In this two week course students will learn the basics of glassblowing. You will learn how to properly gather the glass out of the furnace, use the tools and you will create one of a kind solid and blown glass objects.

Intermediate Workshop: Students will build on the skills they learned in the beginning courses or workshops. Students will learn how to make a variety of shapes and how to use a variety of coloring techniques.

Classes and workshops are limited to 6 students.

Membership Form

One Day Workshops

 Saturdays, 10:00am-12:00pm Each $50 per person

Cane Workshop on April 10th is $75 per person

Tuition includes all materials and equipment.

January 30 – Puntys: Learn the dynamics of how and why a punty works. Learn dome, doughnuts, cross, sculpture, keeper and clip puntys.

February 13 – Bits: You will learn to control the amount of glass you gather and how to deal with it. We will practice avolio, pinchy bits, skirts and punts.

March 20 – Handles: You will learn to properly marver a handle so that it stretches evenly. We will cover roman, split, round handles and more.

April 10 – Cane: You will learn how to pull straight and twisty cane and we will discuss the options of design and application. 

April 17 – Paperweights: We will practice different types, sizes and coloring of paperweights.

May 8 – Coldworking: An essential part of finishing any glass blown piece, you can learn how to properly use each of the machines in our cold workshop. 

May 22 – Coldjoining: You will learn the difference methods and adhesives for joining glass. This class will open up possibilities for mixed media pieces.
